First Place
Fraser Decks and Patio Covers
Partner: MoistureShield
We were in charge of building the display for Old Castle/MoistureShield to showcase their decking products, railing products, and many other items at the International Builders’ Show (IBS) Las Vegas in 2022. We were given a design to work with and were asked to fly out to Las Vegas to build the display on site. The booth itself was over 1,600 sq ft and we only had a few days to layout, cut, and install everything. We did a replica of their logo with the decking in one section (it was redone multiple times until it was perfect), along with multiple other angled deck displays, one elevated deck display, a cable railing, an aluminum railing, material display cases, a “tree” with all of the brands associated with Old Castle, and we coordinated pavers/turf around the display.
The decking was all installed using hidden fasteners and plugs, so that there were no visible screws. The deck was built as though it was going to be a permanent deck and we sent our top 6 installers to build everything. It was a huge undertaking and we are very proud of what we accomplished!
Second Place
Deck and Basement Company
Partners: TimberTech, Pro Deck Supply, & Struxure
This 2500 square foot deck on the 17th green at Old Course was designed purposefully to support brand activation, spectator viewing, and beverage service. On the first level, the deck invited the public to a space that mimicked a deck that might be in their own backyard, or at least one they would want in their backyard. The second level of the structure served as an entertainment area with plenty of space to support the views of the 18th hole and 17th green. A cabana structure shielded a commercial bar from the Florida sun so that cold drinks could easily flow. With no less than three different railing types and the same number of colors of decking, the deck was a striking assortment of color, product and skill. The viewing area is a 40′ diameter circle with curved Intex PVC railing and dual staircases flanking the offset Cabanas. The perimeter is cladded with Wide Vintage decking, consciously spaced to align with both the upper and lower stair risers. The lower deck features a corner seating alcove, easy access ramp and Impressions Rail Express with open mid rail and cocktail top.
Third Place
Deckscapes of Virginia
Partners: Struxure & TREX
This is Headquarters. The property features all sorts of outdoor living spaces from a custom curved deck to an open porch with retractable rainier screen to outdoor kitchens, fire features and patio displays. We even incorporated a Struxure louvered pergola right outside the main entrance. The outdoor display areas are flanked with landscaping and outdoor lighting to finish off the spaces.
The property features both interior and exterior display areas as well as a conference room for client presentations and office space for our staff. The interior space incorporates a display porch with closed rafters and open rafters visible to suggest ceiling conditions, as well as a full size porch conversions vinyl window/ screen unit, recessed lights, and an electric bromic heater. The walls of both the interior and exterior of the property are covered with decking, PVC profiles, and stone material to offer ample selections. The space as become so popular that we now promote annual open houses, drawing hundreds of potential customers per year.
