- The roof’s radius design was engineered to perfectly match the home’s roofline, requiring custom measurements and fabrication.
- All roof beams and rafters were individually designed and customized to achieve the precise curvature and alignment.
- The aluminum fascia was fabricated offsite and then fitted onsite to seamlessly follow the home’s roof profile, demonstrating detailed craftsmanship and precision installation.
- Midway through the build, the client introduced a design change to incorporate custom cypress-wrapped pilings, which required structural and aesthetic integration without disrupting progress.
- A custom cypress closet was built to conceal the lift and electrical components, providing both functionality and a cohesive natural look.
- Each element—from the Azek composite decking to the In-Lite LED in-deck lighting—was intentionally selected to combine durability, design continuity, and refined finish throughout the entire structure.

- Coordinating permits for both the seawall and dock presented a unique challenge; the dock was completed first, requiring the walkway to be left short until the seawall permit was secured and construction could reconnect the structures.
- The project features two custom ShoreStation deck-over lifts, designed for functionality and aesthetics while maximizing usable deck space.
- Each deck-over lift was constructed on a custom aluminum platform engineered to withstand submersion and harsh elements, integrating hydraulic lift tubes and components for smooth, reliable operation.
- The upper deck utilized Dexerdry gasket systems between the WEARDECK™ boards to create a waterproof seal, effectively forming a roof system to protect the boats below.
- The combination of precision-engineered hydraulic systems, waterproof decking integration, and seamless structural coordination highlights the craftsmanship and technical planning behind this build.

This custom dock was designed with boating and long-term performance in mind, using only premium materials that stand the test of time. The structure features Owens Corning lumber for decking, fascia, and trim and EcoPile composite pilings — chosen for strength, durability, and environmental resilience. Camo fasteners to create a clean, seamless finish throughout.
Built entirely by hand, every piling was set without machinery — even in water depths reaching eight feet. The roof structure was hand-cut and framed onsite, then finished with a standing seam metal roof and tongue-and-groove pine ceiling to match the home’s warm aesthetic.
Two full boat slips and an adjoining floating dock allow easy access for a variety of watercraft, blending practical function with refined craftsmanship. To complete the space, we installed recessed lighting, a ceiling fan, and a daybed for comfort and relaxation.
Despite the challenges of manual construction and deep-water installation, this project stands as a testament to meticulous craftsmanship, thoughtful design, and enduring quality — a dock built for both work and leisure, and crafted to be enjoyed for generations.
