Deckmasters of South Florida
Built as a luxury showcase space, this Clearwater Beach Sales Gallery was designed to captivate buyers and reflect the craftsmanship behind the future oceanfront tower.
Constructed atop an existing steel frame structure, the project blends Ipe and Cumaru hardwoods with precise metal fabrication and complex engineering.
Design Features:
- Custom louvers built in our shop over three months and installed over another month.
- A grand entrance staircase, front viewing platform, and two ADA- compliant ramps with stainless steel railings and aluminum powder-coated posts.
- 2,500-sq-ft front and 3,500-sq-ft rear decks overlooking the bay, framed with double and triple 2×12 joists, detailed concrete work, and precision-fit craftsmanship.
Major Challenges & Obstacles:
- Architectural plans revised four times, requiring structural and design changes while maintaining schedule.
- Sourcing stainless steel hardware after changes required driving up to two hours to find materials in stock.
- The site endured two hurricanes, yet the timeline never shifted.
- Installed 4×12 pergola beams weighing 280 pounds each, lifted 16 feet in the air with manpower and lifts.
- 20-foot 6×6 posts, 4 feet embedded below deck, anchored to concrete supports with large-diameter wedge anchors securing framing.
Based in Fort Lauderdale, Deckmasters rotated crews monthly for six months, took 1 year of planning, completed project early

- The PIXL at Plantation project includes an 8,000 sq. ft. elevated deck and 1,500 sq. ft. pool deck built for a new multi-residential complex in Plantation, FL.
- Construction took place during hurricane season, bringing heavy rain, flooding, and constant mud that repeatedly stalled progress.
- Sonotubes used for concrete footings were often damaged or filled with water and soil, requiring multiple rounds of excavation, reinstallation, and concrete pours.
- The unstable soil made it difficult to maintain footing depth and alignment, forcing our installers to adjust elevations daily to protect structural integrity.
- We worked through severe weather conditions, using pumps and quick-set concrete to stabilize areas before additional rainfall.
- Despite these obstacles, our crew maintained pace with the overall site schedule through strong field coordination, consistent quality checks, and efficient re-mobilization after every delay.
- Each phase passed inspection on the first attempt, reflecting precise craftsmanship, adherence to code, and a clean structural execution.
- The project was completed ahead of schedule, despite repeated material loss and unpredictable conditions.
- The finished deck delivers a modern, high-performance outdoor space that enhances the property’s architectural design while offering long-term durability and safety.
