Deck Safety Month® is more than a campaign. It is a national effort that brings together professionals across the deck and railing industry to promote safer outdoor living spaces.

At the center of this effort is NADRA’s Deck Safety Ambassador Program.

What Is a Deck Safety Ambassador?

Deck Safety Ambassadors are industry professionals who commit to helping raise awareness about deck safety. Participants come from many areas of the industry, including:

  • Deck Builders & Contractors
  • Home Inspectors
  • Retailers, distributor, and lumberyards
  • Manufacturers
  • Industry advocates

NADRA Deck Safety Ambassadors help share an important message with homeowners and communities: decks should be regularly inspected and built according to modern safety standards.

Why It Matters:

Across North America, millions of decks are aging. Many were built decades ago under older building codes or with construction practices that have since changed.

Exposure to weather, moisture, and structural loading can weaken components over time. Without regular inspections and proper maintenance, small issues can develop into significant safety concerns.

NADRA’s Deck Safety initiative focuses on three core principles:

Educate. Inspect. Correct.

By encouraging homeowners and professionals to follow these principles, the campaign helps prevent accidents while improving the longevity of outdoor structures.

How Ambassadors Make an Impact:
