ICOR Building & Remodeling
This historic porch renovation, originally built in 1896, now stands as a testament to our crew’s craftsmanship and attention to detail. Our client’s primary goal was to restore the porch to its original charm while incorporating low-maintenance materials. We selected grooved IPE for the decking, meticulously replicating the original tongue-and-groove layout with a starburst pattern on the radius section. To enhance the existing handrails, we introduced custom-made Intex railings and balusters, receiving Historic Commission approval for the 30-inch height to preserve the unobstructed water views from both the porch and the interior.
A standout feature is the stair handrail, crafted by local master metalsmith Michael Saari, whose hand-forged tulip design exemplifies the project’s artistry. One of the most challenging aspects was constructing a jig to match the radius of the upper header for a new double-carrying beam on the radius section of the deck. We kerf cut and coated the new beam with exterior-grade poly adhesive, and effectively bent the beam to the exact radius using the jig. The result is a beautifully restored porch that honors its historic roots while offering modern durability. This project showcases the outstanding craftsmanship and dedication of our team, evident in every detail.

SG Construction
This full-yard transformation brought new life and excitement to this valley-view ranch- style home. The design aimed to capture breathtaking valley vistas while enhancing outdoor living with stylish, functional features.
At the heart of the space, an inviting ipe deck creates a warm and natural focal point at the viewing edge, drawing eyes to the panoramic scenery. A modern patio cover seamlessly extends from the main residence, creating a shaded retreat complete with an outdoor kitchen for effortless entertaining. The pool serves as the centerpiece of the design, its sparkling water reflecting the beauty of the landscape and inviting relaxation. The layout maximizes flow, allowing each element—deck, pool, and patio cover to blend beautifully with the surroundings, making the most of the stunning valley views and turning the entire yard into a true outdoor oasis.

Colorado Custom Covers and Decks

Building this deck on a steep slope, reaching 40 feet from grade to the top of the roof, was a rewarding challenge that transformed the outdoor space into a lifestyle destination. A significant hurdle was constructing over an existing cone peak, requiring innovative engineering and meticulous planning.
The highlight of the design is the stylish deck cover, which provides essential protection from the elements while enhancing the overall aesthetic. The ceiling features 2×6 tongue- and-groove boards that I sanded and stained, creating a warm, inviting ambiance. This cover makes the space usable year-round, whether for sun-soaked afternoons or cozy gatherings during rainy evenings, encouraging socializing with family and friends regardless of the weather.
Multi-level platforms flow seamlessly into the surrounding landscape, offering distinct areas for relaxation and dining. Built-in seating and a fire pit area add functionality, while railings with hidden fasteners prioritize safety without sacrificing style. Every detail was carefully considered, as even a small misalignment could compromise the structure. Despite the challenges of digging 16 caissons with 30″x30″ footers for stability, I focused on creating a vibrant outdoor lifestyle. This project showcases my commitment to quality craftsmanship and thoughtful design, resulting in a durable and inviting space.
