Quakertown, PA – (May 1, 2023) With warmer weather and more time spent at home, NADRA is calling on professionals in the decking and outdoor living industry to help promote deck safety and Check Your Deck® this May and beyond. With over 60 million decks in the US, 50 million being residential and 10 million commercial, there are estimated to be 30 million decks that have exceeded their useful life and are in need of repair or replacement.
As professionals in the industry, we have a responsibility to educate homeowners and businesses on the importance of deck safety. We encourage deck builders, lumberyards, manufacturers, and inspectors to join NADRA in promoting Deck Safety Month® and sharing NADRA’s resources with their customers. By doing so, we can help ensure user safety, as well as extend the deck’s lifespan, improve appearance, and increase livability.
NADRA Members can access NADRA’s resources by visiting NADRA.org, which includes the 10-Point Deck Safety Consumer Checklist, as well as, an extensive marketing toolkit which can be found in the members’ section. As industry professionals, you can also become certified through the NADRA Deck Inspection Certification Course, which offers training for Professionals to properly and thoroughly inspect and evaluate decks. Consumers can search for a certified NADRA member in their area by browsing the NADRA’s “Search For A Qualified Member“ Directory.
