Executives and Product Experts Highlight Innovations and Resources with Multi-Market Interactive Events

Winchester, VA – March 2010 | It’s a new decade and Trex® has a whole new attitude. For the second consecutive year, the nation’s largest manufacturer of wood-alternative decking, railing and fencing products will visit valued trade partners in select markets offering the chance to interact with senior company executives and new Trex products, innovations and resources.

Beginning March 3, the Trex Walk the Walk Tour will give builders, contractors and installers the opportunity to experience the latest and greatest offerings from Trex – and ask questions of company representatives in a no pressure environment. Highlighted at each Walk the Walk event will be the revolutionary new Trex TranscendTM decking and railing system, which boasts an unprecedented combination of performance and aesthetics guaranteed to outperform wood, composite and PVC for decades. On-site demonstrations by Trex product experts will allow attendees to witness first-hand the collection’s superior resistance to staining. Trex will also show decking installations using the new Trex® Hideaway® Universal Hidden Fastener and will share the brand’s latest advertising, merchandising and online initiatives.

“The positive feedback received after last year’s Walk the Walk Tour reinforced the value of meeting face-to-face with our industry partners and emphasizing our commitment to product innovation, quality materials and personalized service,” said Ron Kaplan, President and CEO of Trex. “During this Tour, we’ll be sharing knowledge and resources that will allow professionals to build their businesses and improve their bottom lines.”

During the tour, attendees also can learn more about the TrexPro® platform which has been completely restructured both to provide greater inherent value to its members and to ensure that participating contractors are fully committed and qualified to serve as Trex brand representatives. Interested professionals will be able to find out more about the valuable benefits that members receive, such as lead generation and marketing tools, as well as the qualifications for becoming a TrexPro.

Trex® Outdoor Living Road Show
Accompanying each Walk the Walk Tour event will be the Trex Outdoor Living Road Show. This mobile marketing unit (MMU) will be touring nationally throughout the spring and summer, offering consumers the opportunity to interact with the full assortment of low- maintenance Trex decking, railing and fencing products – and obtain all the information and resources necessary to complete their own beautiful outdoor living projects.

The exterior of the MMU is wrapped with images of Trex Transcend decks that showcase all four available colors in the collection – as well as various railing options. Additionally, visitors will be able to see a Trex Transcend deck for themselves through an on-site decking and railing display that invites interaction and side-by-side comparisons with other product lines. Inside, story boards will provide information about the Trex brand, products and eco- friendly practices – while three computer kiosks allow visitors to navigate the revamped Trex Web site and experiment with online planning and design tools, such as the Color Visualizer.

“We’re excited to hit the road again this year and relish the opportunity not only to educate and inspire – but also to hear feedback and address needs for specific products and resources,” said Kaplan. “By truly listening to our channel partners and consumers, we can maintain both our industry leadership and our position as the most preferred brand in the marketplace.”
