Developed by Australian inventor and tradesman Mark Behnecke and building materials veteran Mike Kunard, they have partnered to form the US based, The Deck Divider LLC.

Jason Russell, Dr. Decks, is an early adopter of the system and now is a proud Brand Ambassador for The Deck Divider. “The Deck Divider truly changes the time and accuracy it takes to layout decks whether you are using wood, composite, or PVC.”  The deck divider works with grooved and square edged boards.  For most grooved boards, the deck divider relieves the pressure on clip fastening systems.   “I really appreciated this tool on a current project that has multi-width boards on it. Every gap is perfect, and we were super-efficient because of the deck dividers. I’m dedicating a dozen or more clamps to the deck divider in my tool trailer” proclaimed Jason.

The system is sold with two end clamps and five dividers built with ball bearings to be adjustable on an existing clamp.  Simply secure the clamp ends onto a starter deck board and adjust the movable dividers between the deck boards.  Tighten the hand clamp to pull the deck boards into the 5mm (3/16”) spacers and be ready to fasten deck boards down.  Using 6 clamps will allow 6 boards 16’ long to be ready for installation in no time at all.

Please note: while the Deck Divider is shown in various demos with clamp bars, it is not included with the Deck Divider kit and is not sold by The Deck Divider company. Compatible clamp bars are widely available from third-party tool suppliers.
