Accessories complement ALX aluminum railing with function, beauty

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich., October 28, 2020 – Deckorators®, a leading manufacturer of composite decking, deck railing, balusters, post caps and related products, has introduced three modern and functional new aluminum deck railing accessories for the 2021 deck building season.

ALX post extensions for hanging string lights, ALX Contemporary aluminum deck gate solutions, and ALX Contemporary continuous top rail brackets help deck builders and homeowners create personalized outdoor living spaces. All three new accessories are easy to install and perfectly complement the sleek, simplified look of Deckorators ALX aluminum railing systems.

ALX post extensions for hanging lights

Deckorators ALX aluminum post extensions make it easy to install and hang outdoor lighting such as string lights and café lights. Designed to work with the 2½-inch-by-2½-inch posts in the ALX Classic and ALX Contemporary railing systems, they help extend the use of outdoor space and create ambience while increasing visibility and safety.

Available in Textured Black, the 66-inch (5.5-foot) extensions turn 39-inch railing posts into 105-inch (8.75-foot) posts or 44-inch posts into 110-inch (9.16-foot) posts for hanging lights. Extensions feature a preinstalled insert that is placed into a 2½-inch railing post and fastened. Each extension comes with a carabiner clip that can be installed where needed.

ALX Contemporary deck gate 

The new Deckorators ALX Contemporary aluminum deck gate adds an attractive, safe and convenient entrance and exit point that coordinates with ALX Contemporary railing. Available in Textured Black and Textured White, the gate is ideal for keeping children and pets safe and contained.

A preassembled 48-inch wide gate is available for a 36-inch railing height. A gate jamb kit is available for 36-inch and 42-inch rail heights, allowing for customized gate sizes. Gate hardware, hinges and a latch are included. To install, builders simply need to cut ALX Contemporary railing to size and assemble the gate with brackets. 

Continuous top rail brackets

New continuous top rail brackets for ALX Contemporary preassembled aluminum railing enable builders and homeowners to achieve a unique, continuous aesthetic instead of a traditional post-and-post-cap look.

Line, corner and end brackets are included, with a swivel stair option also available. They are available in the four ALX Contemporary powder-coated colors: Textured Black, Textured White, Weathered Brown and Bronze. To install, builders simply need to cut the post to size, place the bracket on the post, connect the rails and add the bracket cover for a clean, continuous top rail.

The new accessories feature a thick powder-coated finish that resists scratches and corrosion. Like Deckorators ALX aluminum railing, all three new accessories are backed by a lifetime limited warranty on manufacturing defects and powder coating and a 25-year removal-and-replacement warranty.

ALX post extensions are expected to be available in the U.S. and Canada in January 2021. The ALX Contemporary deck gate and continuous top rail brackets are expected to be available in the U.S. and Canada in February 2021.
